Barrier bags and other kinds of stand up pouches are made from several layers. These layers are laminated together to form a single uniform structure. A heat sealer is usually sufficient to seal these layers. A stand up pouch heat sealer can seal most of the stand up bags that you see in supermarkets. As shown in the pouch heat sealer video, the device is capable of sealing at least 8mm of laminated plastic.
